Een top 10 van producten en diensten die Nederlandse consumenten online aanschaffen laat zien dat boeken, bioscoop- en theaterkaartjes en kleding de ranglijst aanvoeren bij Nederlandse webwinkeliers. Uit het onderzoek komt verder naar voren dat, hoewel 87 procent van de respondenten online winkelen als veilig ervaart, één op de drie Nederlandse consumenten de veiligheid van websites niet goed kan beoordelen. MasterCard heeft daarom een richtlijn online betalen voor consumenten gepubliceerd, die wordt gesteund door Thuiswinkel.org.
